Hayden Clark is student of the month

Hayden is an outstanding young man. He currently holds a GPA of 4.098 and is ranked 65th  in the 2013 graduating class of 639 students. He is extremely disciplined, and his efforts are also paying off as he is a regular member of the Principal's list with Distinction; meaning that he has a 4.0 or higher GPA, in all Honor's and AP classes. Hayden is team captain of the Varsity football team and has all of the qualities of a great leader. Hayden has been instrumental in keeping team morale high during a difficult season, never letting up on the hard work and dedication needed. Recently he participated in "A day of service" in which he did a variety of service projects throughout his neighborhood. Hayden also led a book drive for Emerson Elementary school where he was able to collect almost 550 books! He is actively involved in his community and does regular service projects throughout the year.

Westwood English Teacher Mr. Zuccato nominated Hayden for this award and here is what he writes about Hayden: "Sometimes leadership is manifested in just how you live your life, and not in some role you've taken on through various activities. Hayden has, on guts and hard-work alone, earned himself a full ride scholarship to a division III school. As soon as his football season was over, he was in the gym every morning, waking at 4:30am to get to the gym to prepare himself for the next level. Not only that, but Hayden is a good person, always willing to help those who are struggling academically, in the weight room, or otherwise. He is the type to give you the shirt off his back, and that is rare these days especially in someone so young."

Hayden is a perfect representation of a Westwood Warrior as well as a MESA Sunrise Rotary Student of the month. CONGRATULATIONS Hayden!
