Shaked Aricha-Levi, Westwood High School Student of the Month

Student of the month:Shaked Aricha-Levi moved to the United States from Israel at age 10 speaking little English.  In Israel she lived in an area where she experienced shelling and having to hide in air raid shelters. Shaked learned English through ESL classes and mostly by translating her textbooks word for word after school.  Shaked is a student in the IB program at Westwood with a GPA of 4.750 -- she is also involved in Honor Choir, Model UN and foreign exchange club. She also works a part-time job at Safeway.   Shaked is interested in a career in international relations. She is interested in making a difference in the middle east. Considering University of Rochester -- good programs in international relations, internships and studying abroad.
