Westwood High Mesa Sunrise Rotary Student of the Month John Roberson

Ms. Kari Ramirez English teacher has this to say about John and why he should be chosen for Rotary Student of the Month:

This student should be recognized because he is a stellar student despite the challenges his life presents. He currently lives in a foster home due to difficult circumstances with his biological mother. He harbors no resentment and is grateful for all he has. He is respectful and kind to all. He comes to class regularly and is always prepared. He will help others when they need it and goes the extra mile always. He is truly deserving of this recognition.

John did not perform well in his Freshman year of school, but has since recognized that his studies are very important.  His last quarter he received three A's and a B.  John is interested in extra curricular activities but has been taking care of his ten year old autistic foster brother after school instead.  His foster mother says that he is always patient and understanding.

John plans to go to MCC for the next two years and then on to a four year college to earn a degree.  Possible career choices are engineering or accounting.
