Mesa Sunrise Rotary Club has collaborated with Barbados Rotary Club to develop an ongoing Smoke Alarm and Fire Safety Program with the Barbados Fire Service, providing fire safety literature and materials as well as smoke alarms and fire extinguishers to the Barbados Fire Service to be distributed to local households who cannot afford to purchase their own smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Soo Stevens-Clarke and Tiffany Jones from Mesa Sunrise Rotary Club visited Barbados during the summer of 2011 and  met with the Barbados area Rotary Clubs, toured the Barbados Fire Service facilities and organized several days where they participated in installing smoke alarms and fire extinguishers in family homes.
